Subj:.....The
Scholar's Puzzle (S645)
From the book
"More Mathematical Puzzles of Sam Loyd"
Edited by Martin Gardner
From: Dover Publications in 1960
Move
one circle to make four rows of three-in-a-line.
Jennie, the brightest
little girl in school, is showing a cleaver
puzzle to her classmate,
Joe. After drawing six small circles on
the fence, she said:
"Now you can see only two rows with three
circles in a line.
I want you to mark out one circle and draw it
somewhere else on
the fence so that there will be four rows of
three-in-a-line." |
