Chewin The Fat - Ladder Accident (S765)
From: tom on 9/7/2011 Drawing from MiDor.biz |
Karen Dunbar first came to the
attention of mainstream
audiences in the BBC Scotland
comedy series Chewin' the
Fat and subsequently was given
her own show by the channel,
The Karen Dunbar Show.
Although the last series ended in
February 2002, Hogmanay specials
continued from 2002 to 2005.
In the Chewin' the Fat series,
the character Brenda repeatedly
injures (often seriously) her
husband, she then shouts "HELP
HELP, there's been a terrible
accident!", in a very bored,
insincere manner. Her
husband then usually replies with
"Brenda, ya bastard!".

Britain's Radio Program Hold Your Plums
From: kgilmour2000 on 9/27/2011 (S767) Drawing
from Marlene
Harris-Taylor...
|
In Britain's radio program Hold
Your Plums, they asked
a London woman the following
radio phone-in question:
"In which European country do
people still drive on the
left?" Caller has a unique
and funny thought process in
answering the question.
Click on either source, or 'HERE'
for my copy, to hear
this very funny BBC broadcast.
Hold Your Plums was probably
the first British quiz show
to have ever been released on
video. The very popular
local radio quiz on Sunday mornings
has the following
very simple format:
Elderly woman phones in from somewhere in the Radio
Merseyside/Radio City
region
They are asked a very simple question likes of What's
Hitler's first name?
Inevitably, the contestant is struggling and Billy +
Wally have to give out
clues to help them out.
Billy gets very annoyed as the contestant misses the
point of the clue (with
hilarious consequences) and
starts to scream down
the phone like hell.
Eventually (and we do mean eventually), the question
is correctly answered
and they get the chance to win
a prize on the fruit
machine.
