| 'Dude,
perfect!' Is this really the most
amazing basketball shot in the entire world? By Mail Foreign Service . . Parents be warned: It is very likely that this is the sort of thing that your children are up to at university. They just might not be quite as good at it as the six young men who form 'Dude Perfect' are. These astonishing
videos claims to show the longest basketball shot
. These three videos show six students at Texas A&M University in America who have come together to form a group called 'Dude Perfect' - quickly becoming yet another internet legend. The first two videos, posted on YouTube on September 17, shows one of the 'Dudes' making a jaw-dropping shot from the third deck of the Texas A&M football stadium. One video taken from the third deck, and one taken from down by the net - both show the ball clearly arcing through the air before smoothly scoring. Computer experts called
in to examine previous videos have told American media that they cannot
see where any edits may have been made.
. The six - formerly high school basketball players, now college roomates - have taken the web by storm with their 'nothing but net' feats. One shudders to imagine
what their parents and teachers think - after all, it's clear that the
majority of their time must be spent perfecting these astonishing shots
rather than in their rooms studying.
. 'We are already set to sponsor a few and, for example, if our video hits one million views this semester, the six of us will be sponsoring 10 kids!' the group announced somewhat excitedly. 'We're really excited about this, and we hope you will help us spread the word so we can sponsor as many kids as possible!' The group's website can be found at www.dudeperfect.com (perhaps unsurprisingly, that domain name had not yet been snapped up). The six young men
also revealed the secret behind the name: 'Sean set a camera on a railing
in our backyard, looked through the lens, saw Tyler sitting perfectly in
the frame, and said 'Dude perfect'', they confessed.
. They also revealed that one of the members is actually already a graduate, having left Texas A&M this spring. Four others are due to be graduating next year and one in 2011, though they did not clarify who was who. Despite their viral fame, the six have remained elusive, with frustrated American television hosts begging them to return calls and grant requests for an interview. They have been featured in the media before, with the hosts of U.S. morning talk show Good Morning America devoting an entire segment to questioning whether or not their video is fake. Fortunately for Dude Perfect, computer experts called in by the show confessed they could not spot where the videos had been edited together to create a fake. The group also found
an audience on U.S. chat show Regis and Kelly. 'That's a very specialised
skill,' host Kelly Ripa commented drily on watching the video.
