West leads the King of Spades and the contract is 3 No Trump.
Which line of play will give you the best chance of making
your contract?

Answer.

You have eight trick off the top (1 Spade, 3 Hearts, and 4 Clubs).  If you try to set up a Diamond, East-West will set you in Spades.  You have seven Hearts, if they break 3-3, your five of Hearts will be your ninth trick.  Let West win the first Spade.  When he leads it again, run the Clubs and play for a 3-3 break in Hearts.

West leads the King of Diamonds and the contract is 1 No Trump.
Which line of play will give you the best chance of making
your contract?

Answer.

You have five trick off the top (1 Spade, 1 Hearts, 1 Diamond and 2 Clubs).  You need two more tricks.  You have eight Clubs.  If the opponents' Clubs are divided 3-2, you can establish two more tricks in Clubs.

Win the first trick with your Ace of Diamonds.  Play the Ace, then King, and finally a small Club.  If the Club suit breaks 3-2, the opponents can only take four Diamonds at most.  After regaining the lead, you can enter dummy with the Ace of Spades and take your two winning Clubs.

You lose the first three tricks in Diamonds.  West took
the third trick and returned the Queen of Clubs.  The
contract is 2 Spades.  Which line of play will give you
the best chance of making your contract?

Answer.

You have already lost three tricks.  If you try to drive out the Ace and King of Spades first, East- West will also pick up a Club trick and set the contract.  After diving out one of the top two Spades, lead the Queen of Hearts, followed by a small Heart.  If the Hearts break 4-4, or 5-3, you can drop your losing Club on dummy's third Heart.

West leads the Queen of Spades and the contract is 1 No Trump.
Which line of play will give you the best chance of making
your contract?

Answer.

You have five trick off the top (2 Spade, 1 Hearts, and 2 Diamond).  You need two more tricks.  The tricks must be developed in Diamonds, but Diamonds are your only entry to the dummy.  The opponents only have five Diamonds.  If they break 3-2 you can set up the suit by taking the first trick in Spades, and playing low from both your hand and the board.  After you regain the lead, take the King of Diamonds, and then lead your last Diamond to the dummy.

West leads the Queen of Hearts and the contract is 3 No Trump.
Which line of play will give you the best chance of making
your contract?

Answer.

Let West take the first trick.  If West lead a second Heart, you have to take the trick.  You have six trick off the top (3 Spade, 1 Hearts, and 2 Diamond).  You need three more tricks.  If you try to set up Clubs, East-West will set the contract in Hearts.  You have nine Diamonds.  If the Diamonds break 2-2, your contract is made.  Play for the 2-2 break.

You lose the first three tricks in Clubs.  East took
the third trick and returned the Jack of Hearts.  The
contract is 3 Diamonds.  Which line of play will give
you the best chance of making your contract?

Answer.

You have already lost three tricks.  You will need two entries to the board to set up the Spades.  Take the fourth trick in your hand with the King of Hearts.  After clearing trumps, enter dummy the first time with a low Spade.  After losing to the Ace of Spades you will regain the lead on the next trick.  Enter dummy a second time with the Ace of Hearts and take the rest of your winning Spades.
