One day in 1976, Mike, Bob, and I were at my home and
decided to play "team Risk."  Since there were only
three of us, the weaker play, Bob, was given two colors
for one team, and Mike and I formed the other team.

In the middle of one of the battles in the game, Bob,
the smartest person in the room, asked us if strategy
or tactics were more important in Risk.  Mike and I sat
in stunned silence for ten seconds.  Finally I spoke up
"What's the difference."

Bob explained that strategies were the long term plans
in the game, and tactics where how you handled individual
battles.  All I could say was "OK," and Mike and I went
on to win the game.
